Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah provided a great start for India and eventually ended with three wickets each as India bowled out Bangladesh to 173 having won the toss and deciding to bowl first.
In their run chase, India sealed the match with a strong opening stand of 61 in 14.2 overs followed by a third wicket partnership of 64 runs. Both the partnership featured Rohit Sharma, who batted beautifully to score 83 from 104 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. It was a responsible knock from the Indian make-shift skipper which ensured that Bangladesh never had the chance of coming back in the game.
Shikhar Dhawan helped himself to a 47-ball 40 while MS Dhoni, who was promoted to no.4, scored 33 from 37 balls before he was dismissed by Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza. India wrapped up the run chase with 13.4 overs left.

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh was down and out at 65 for 5 and later on at 101 for 7 in the 34th over.
